From the Pastor's Heart

As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is the Father’s love of those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He taken our sins from us. Psalm 103:12You are special in God’s eyes and so He has made this beautiful day for you to rejoice and be glad in it. My heart desire for you today is that you will love Him as much as He does and allow Him to remove your sin, pain, frustration, and translate you from darkness into His marvelous light. For the Son of God came, to seek and to save those who are lost. Luke 9:10 I pray for you that you will surrender your all to Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Savior. I desire that you spend eternity in heaven by surrendering completely to Jesus. Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks every day. Let today be the day to open your heart to Him. He will come and dine with you and you with Him. He says what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul. Mark 8:36

Our History

Word of Life was founded on February 8, 2004 by Reverend Edward and Lady Fonis Poku. Our vision is to impart lives though the preaching of the Gospel within the community and beyond.

Services were held in our apartment between the two of us for several months until one person joined us. We later moved out to Mars Estate Elementary School, where we met for approximately six years.

Today Word of Life Chapel has grown to approximately two hundred members with several ministries in place to promote the spiritual growth and nourishment of its members.

Our ministries include prayer, children, men, women, music, ushering and hospitality, evangelism, janitorial, and audio-visual. We are also involved in feeding the homeless during the winter season. We also utilize committees to address welfare, marriage and finance matters.

We have stood the test of time over the years and continue to trust God to building and expand His church to the glory and honor of His name.

MISSION STATEMENT - To reach out to the local and international community to bring God’s deliverance to Mankind - physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially and psychologically; so that they can live the life that God promised in His word. It is our mission to spread the gospel of the Kingdom of God to all nations, transforming and making disciples for Christ by teaching and equipping them to grow into spiritual maturity. These effective tools will bring leadership and direction to our World.

Our vision is to build a church that is focused on investing into people’s lives so that they can live the abundant life, which Christ Jesus promised in John 10:10. In the area of investing into people, we will use education and training to bring enlightenment to both the young and old, male and female with various resources such as: Workshops, Life coaching, Seminars and One to One consultations.
